Early Intervention Pediatric Physiotherapy

Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health

Our community-based Paediatric Resource Team helps infants, children, and youth participate in active, healthy lives in their homes, schools, and communities by providing services in nursing and physical therapy.
Early Intervention: Physiotherapy services for children 0-5 years with, or at risk for gross motor delay. Consultation is provided in multiple community settings: home, daycare, preschool, and playgrounds/other community spaces.

School-Aged Children: Physiotherapy services for school-aged children with support needs from kindergarten through transitioning into adult services at age 19, to achieve optimal independence and assist them in meeting educational goals. The physiotherapist works with family members, teachers, and educational assistants to support the student’s participation, inclusion, and access to learning opportunities with the goal of achieving the student’s highest level of independent functioning. Services are provided in home, school, child-care, and community settings.
This program is funded through public health, so clients do not need to pay.
